Judd Cummings, MD, joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical Center because he appreciates that the focus is always on the patient.
“CTCA is concerned solely with the well-being and survival of their patients with cancer,” he says.
Dr. Cummings earned a medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Memphis, before finishing a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Cummings worked as an orthopedic surgeon for a private surgical oncology practice in Phoenix.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Cummings has also held numerous academic appointments. He served as Co-Chair of the Osteosarcoma Collaborative Research Group at the Simeon Cancer Center at Indiana University, and was a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of, Utah School of Medicine.
Work from Dr. Cummings has appeared in numerous publications, including Indiana Orthopedic Journal, Journal of Oncology and Journal of Orthopedic Research. He has presented at the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, and also the Annual Meeting of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society in Paris.
In every role, Dr. Cummings enjoys the opportunity to really connect with his patients. “Getting to know patients on a very personal level is rewarding and adds to patient satisfaction,” he says.
