In her role as the Director of Rehabilitation Services at CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center (Western), Jane White says: “I get my energy and commitment from our patients. They are my ‘rock-stars!’ I have definitely received more than I have given through their valuable lessons and insights regarding life, love, hope and what really matters in life.”
White graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Felician College in Lodi, New Jersey. She later earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
White began her career as a physical therapist at an acute care hospital in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. In the years following, White held positions as a staff physical therapist in Ocean City, NJand as the rehabilitation services director at a post-acute care center. As the rehabilitation services director, White oversaw three rehab departments, recruited and hired employees, and managed the evaluation and development of therapy programs, among other responsibilities.
Over the course of her career, White attended numerous conferences that addressed various issues in rehabilitation therapy. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
In late 2008, White joined the oncology rehabilitation team at Western. White states, “I made up my mind about joining CTCA even before the job was offered to me! When I heard about the Mother Standard® of Care, I knew this is where I was destined to work. As a clinician, I have always embraced an integrative approach to patient care. CTCA truly offers patients a comprehensive approach to cancer treatment, gives them choices, and respects their decisions.”
When asked what she likes best about working at CTCA, White explains: “I love the daily collaboration I have with the entire care team and the fact that we are all here under one roof. This makes communication between the various departments and disciplines so easy and response time so fast. If a question or concern comes up during our evaluation or treatments, the doctor is just down the hallway.”
White jokingly describes herself as a beach girl struggling to survive in the desert. In 2005 she and her husband relocated to Arizona from the Jersey Shore. In her spare time, White enjoys theatre, cooking, reading, and exercise.
