“I have strong, positive and supportive relationships with my patients,” says Dr. Adam Kerievsky, naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist at CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center (Western). “I strive to give my patients the best evidence-based information available to help alleviate symptoms, improve quality of life, and restore hope.”
Dr. Kerievsky earned a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree as well as a certificate in acupuncture from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. While there, he was Class President for the senior years of both the Naturopathic and Acupuncture programs.
A Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management, Dr. Kerievsky also received advanced training and certification in fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. He attended undergraduate studies at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Kerievsky spent 10 years as a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist at Naturopathic Family Care in Phoenix. Prior to that, he spent several years at HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital in Peoria, Arizona and First Medical Plus Family Practice in Phoenix.
In addition, Dr. Kerievsky served as Associate Professor and Clinic Supervising Doctor at Rainstar University in Scottsdale. He has also been a Clinical Service Manager for American Specialty Health Networks since 2001.
In March 2009, Dr. Kerievsky joined the naturopathic team at Western. When asked why he decided to join CTCA, Dr. Kerievsky says, “I felt this was the best opportunity for a naturopathic physician. I also have friends that work here who encouraged me to join. After meeting the staff, seeing the hospital, and learning more about CTCA and its Mother Standard® of care, I knew this was the place I wanted to be.”
Dr. Kerievsky says he appreciates the integration of a formal Naturopathic Medicine Program into the cancer care model. “CTCA integrates naturopathic medicine into its treatment model for all patients. At other hospitals or facilities, naturopathic medicine is usually only an option, or is not available at all.”
In addition, Dr. Kerievsky says he appreciates being able to work with clinicians from multiple disciplines to best serve the needs of patients. “I really enjoy the team approach to patient care. Working alongside all these talented healthcare providers makes coming to work at CTCA a very enjoyable experience.”
According to Dr. Kerievsky, what makes CTCA different from other hospitals is its patient-centered philosophy. “CTCA is the only hospital that I know of that has an integrative, compassionate model of care. CTCA really puts patients first delivering the Mother Standard® of care every day,” he says.
