"I enjoy working at Cancer Treatment Centers of America because all of the doctors caring for patients are truly part of the same goal-oriented team. Together, we provide the best care possible to each and every patient."

Dr. Aaron Wittenberg
Interventional Radiologist

Dr. Aaron Wittenberg is proud to report that Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) offers some of the most sophisticated cancer therapies.

“Within the field of interventional radiology, CTCA provides treatments that target tumors in the liver," says Wittenberg, an interventional radiologist at CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center. "One example is Yttrium-90 selective radioembolization, a minimally invasive way to treat liver tumors by implanting tiny radioactive beads into the tumor bed. CTCA has been a leader in driving this exciting therapy to a broad range of cancer patients.”

Dr. Wittenberg is board certified in diagnostic radiology, as well as vascular and interventional radiology. Procedures he performs at our suburban Phoenix hospital include CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies, chemoembolization, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty.

Dr. Wittenberg earned a medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He completed an internship with Mercy Health Partners in Toledo, where he garnered an Intern of the Year Award. Dr. Wittenberg went onto to complete both a radiology residency and a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University, MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

"There is outstanding communication between patients and the members of their healthcare teams," says Wittenberg of CTCA. "Doctors and clinical staff meet regularly and work under one roof, in close proximity to one another. This makes it easy to communicate and ensure everyone is on the same page.”

Dr. Wittenberg has presented at workshops and exhibits for the Radiological Society of North America. He has also been published in the journal Radiology.
