Daniel Kellman: What makes the naturopathic medicine program at CTCA, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, unique is that we work hand-in-hand with the oncologist. We work in, what's called, a patient empowerment model to be able to communicate directly with the oncologist,
with the care manager and with a nutritionist. And we actually put the patient at the center of our care. So the oncologist will deliver a treatment plan to a patient. We'll come into the room, and we'll talk about ways to decrease side effects, to look at prevention measures as well, and then hand it off to a nutritionist so that they can also talk to them about eating a good diet, maintaining protein levels in the body. And then just having that level of communication is so beneficial, and the patients do respond to that level of care and that communication.
