Radiation Therapy for Stomach Cancer

Cancer Treatment Centers of America utilizes some of the most advanced radiation therapy tools available to treat stomach cancer. In this video, radiation oncologist Dr. Oneita Taylor briefly discusses advantages of using radiation to target cancer in the stomach.

Dr. Oneita Taylor: The stomach is a very sensitive organ to radiation. With the advanced treatment at CTCA for stomach cancer, we're able to target the cancer in the stomach and avoid excessive dose to normal tissue surrounding the stomach and also to the normal part of the stomach itself. The stomach does not tolerate a really high dose of radiation. Utilizing advanced technology, we're able to pinpoint the cancer correctly and accurately and deliver a precise and accurate dose of radiation just right to the tumor itself in the stomach.

Why are some, not all, cancer types listed?

At CTCA, we treat individuals with a variety of cancer types. However, all of our survivors are not on film. If you don't see a survivor with the cancer type you're looking for, it only means we do not have a video at this time.
