Daniel Kellman: Naturopathic medicine can play a very important role in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. A lot of times, patients, if found at the right stage, will have what's called a Whipple surgery, or a removal of part of the pancreas or the whole pancreas, and maybe even some of the digestive system where the digestive system actually gets rerouted a little bit. So there can be problems with actually breaking down foods, such as carbohydrates and fats, which is one of the vital roles that the pancreas plays. So we can actually supplement with pancreatic enzymes. There are some prescriptions available as well for that. And maintaining a proper digestion and absorption of nutrients becomes vital with pancreatic cancer. Not only are we utilizing surgical techniques, but also very targeted therapies and chemotherapy regimens. We can protect the platelets, for example, utilizing various mushroom extracts. We've even seen things like sesame seed oil improving platelet counts so that patients are able to get their treatment.

Real Patients. Real Stories. Real Hope.

Do these videos feature real cancer patients?

Yes, the videos in this section feature real CTCA survivors with real stories to tell. These are not actors. They are cancer patients who came to CTCA and emerged as survivors. These stories are not scripted. They are personal accounts of people who found hope, and a voice, at CTCA. This is what they have to say, in their own words...

Why are some, not all, cancer types listed?

At CTCA, we treat individuals with a variety of cancer types. However, all of our survivors are not on film. If you don't see a survivor with the cancer type you're looking for, it only means we do not have a video at this time.

Keep in mind, we are continuously adding videos to this section. If you don't see the one you're looking for today, visit us again, or let us know how we can improve.
