Daniel Kellman: In the treatment of liver cancer, naturopathic medicine can play a very important role. Certainly, some of the newer targeted agents that are being utilized are having more success in decreasing alpha fetoprotein and some of the tumor markers associated with hepatocellular carcinoma. Certainly, there are things herbally that we can do to protect the liver. For example, milk thistle. If it's used appropriately, it can actually promote healthy liver tissue. So that's something that we use is very potentized silymarin or milk thistle extracts.
