Daniel Kellman: Esophageal cancer is very challenging in that it's located in one of the most vital parts of our digestive system, which is the esophagus. It's the area where we're actually swallowing foods down into our stomach. So if that area becomes compromised in any way, it severely compromises a patient's nutrition. So any time that we can decrease irritation to the lining of esophagus and prevent somebody from having to go on a feeding tube, for example, or to prevent some of the toxicity of the chemotherapy or radiation therapy or photodynamic therapy that's used, any time we can help them get through those treatments with less side effects, then we're ahead of the game.
Listen to one of our naturopathic clinicians, Daniel Kellman, ND, FABNO, discuss how natural therapies can be used to help prevent and reduce side effects of conventional esophageal cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy, radiation and photodynamic therapy.
