Uterine Cancer Treatment: Image Enhancement
Uterine cancer and its related treatment may result in changes to your skin, body and/or hair. At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), we understand just how difficult some of these changes can be to adjust to and deal with. Thus, as part of our integrative, whole-patient approach to uterine cancer treatment, our image enhancement specialists are available to help address your concerns about such changes in appearance and body image you may undergo.
Cosmetic image enhancement
Our Cosmetic Image Enhancement program assists women who are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation as part of their uterine cancer treatment. Our expert team will help you to anticipate and prepare for hair loss and other cosmetic changes that may occur with treatment. Beauticians, cosmetologists and salon personnel are available for personal consultation. In addition, we have developed classes and seminars to help you, your family and community members explore issues related to appearance and body image.
Plastic and reconstructive support
If you will be undergoing surgery as part of your uterine cancer treatment, our surgical oncologists will work with a team of plastic and reconstructive surgeons. They will consult with you prior to your surgery. In many cases, the plastic surgeons can perform restorative procedures during or immediately after your uterine cancer surgery.
