Leptomeningeal cancer

The presence of cancerous cells in the tissues that cover the central nervous system. The meninges (singular meninx) is the system of membranes that envelope and protect the brain and spinal cord. Leptomeninges refers to the two innermost layers of these tissues. Leptomeningeal cancers typically occur as metastases from other forms of cancer which have spread to the leptomeninges.
