Hematopoietic growth factors

A group of hormone-like substances (proteins) that help promote blood cell growth and bone marrow proliferation. Examples of hematopoietic growth factors include interleukin-3, erythropoietin and colony-stimulating factors (also known as CSFs). Hematopoietic growth factors may be used as a form of biotherapy/immunotherapy following a bone marrow transplant or cytotoxic chemotherapy.
