Stomach Cancer Treatment: Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy
Fractionated-dose chemotherapy has been used for stomach cancer treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) for a number of years. An innovative delivery method, fractionated-dose chemotherapy differs from conventional chemotherapy in that it breaks up dosages into smaller amounts that are administered over a longer period of time. This helps, in particular, to reduce common side effects of nausea and vomiting.
Rather than administering chemotherapy drugs in a large, single dose, fractionated-dose chemotherapy distributes the chemo in more manageable amounts over a period of three to five days.
