“I believe one of the things that makes Cancer Treatment Centers of America so unique is it was founded on the Mother Standard® of care,” says Dr. Shannon Subramaniam. “By caring for our patients like they are our family, we go above and beyond what would be considered the normal standard of care. Every patient is someone’s family and deserves to be treated as such.”
Dr. Subramaniam (who’s known to her patients as “Dr. Shannon”) provides chiropractic care to cancer patients undergoing treatment at our hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The benefits of this supportive therapy are numerous. The treatment she provides helps patients increase their mobility, flexibility, strength and function. It also reduces pain and stress.
In November 2010, Dr. Subramaniam joined our integrated team of care providers on a part-time basis. She is onsite Wednesday and Saturday mornings for patient appointments.
“What I enjoy most about working at Cancer Treatment Centers of America is the people—our patients, leadership team and stakeholders," she notes. "The atmosphere of hope, compassion and excellence that is cultivated by everyone here is what makes me most happy to be a part of this team.”
Dr. Subramaniam graduated cum laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University's College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota with a doctorate of chiropractic degree and a bachelor of science degree in human biology.
For more than 16 years, Dr. Subramaniam has practiced chiropractic. She is the author of Dr. Shannon Knows…the 12 Steps for Wellthy People, a 12-step program that helps people make healthy their habit. She is also the co-host of Living Well LIVE, a weekly radio talk show that empowers people to be their best. Dr. Subramaniam regularly speaks on health and wellness topics for civic organizations, corporations, churches and wellness fairs. Additionally, she has been a regular guest on several Tulsa-area television and radio talk shows.
Dr. Subramaniam has traveled to India several times as part of an outreach program for an international ministry. She says she has a heart for teaching and inspiring others to be their best and live life on purpose, with health and passion.
