Katie Bandy is a clinical oncology dietitian in the Nutrition and Metabolic Support Department at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center (Southwestern). Bandy and the rest of the nutrition team take a proactive approach to patient care with science-based innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology.
Bandy joined CTCA in April 2006. A registered and licensed dietitian, Bandy earned both a master of science degree and bachelor of science degree in nutritional sciences from the University of New Mexico. She is also board certified in oncology nutrition.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, Bandy helps provide comprehensive, individualized care to inpatients and outpatients. She strives to assess and monitor patients’ nutritional needs and provide sound nutrition, helping patients stay nutritionally balanced while they are undergoing their traditional cancer treatment.
Bandy says she enjoys working at Southwestern within the team-oriented atmosphere. She appreciates being able to provide individualized care to patients and their caregivers—to better help patients stay nutritionally strong while going through treatments.
