“I want our patients to know and believe that they can make a difference in their health,” says Elise Benczkowski, Naturopathic Oncology Provider at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA). “They should feel supported, valued and confident that they are receiving excellent care.”

Originally from Canada, Benczkowski studied biology at the University of Toronto, and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2006. She completed the Registered Holistic Nutritionist program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2009. From 2010 to 2013, she attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she earned a doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine.

Her postgraduate training included a one-year internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her clinical rotations included adjunctive cancer care as well as an HIV/AIDS clinic at Anishnawbe Community Health Centre.

From 2012 to 2014, Benczkowski was a part-time faculty member at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Her coursework focused on preventive nutrition and alternative approaches to diet, and she gave monthly lectures on various health topics.

Benczkowski joined CTCA in November 2014. She works closely with patients, offering naturopathic medicine alongside their medical care. Herbal medicine and plant-based diets are common among her recommendations. She sees great value in the team-based approach to care at CTCA. “In order to provide the best care and support for our patients, we need to put their needs first, collaborate and support each other,” says Benczkowski.

Benczkowski is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist by the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She is a certified yoga instructor and a certified Personal Training Specialist through Canfitpro.

Passionate about health and wellness, Benczkowski can often be found cooking in the kitchen or exercising at the gym when she is not at CTCA.
