Physical activity, along with a healthy diet, is an essential part of a patient's recovery process.

During your visit to CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center, you and your caregivers (ages 18 years and older) can access the hospital's state-of-the-art Fitness Center to improve your well-being and relieve stress.

The 2,512-square-foot facility is fully equipped with cardio machines, including treadmills, elliptical machines, and recumbent and upright bikes. Other equipment includes a dumbbell rack with free weights ranging from five pounds to 50 pounds, a dual-pulley machine and other weight-training machines.

Support from your care team

Throughout your cancer treatment, your oncology rehabilitation therapist can help you use the Fitness Center to reach your personal fitness goals, as part of the department's Motion for Life Program. In addition, your nutritionist and naturopathic clinician can provide hydration tips, healthy-eating plans and supplements that you may consider before and after working out.

Hours

Located on the first floor of the hospital, the Fitness Center is open 24/7.
