Wendy Whelan

wendy whelanWendy Whelan is the Vice President, Stakeholder and Patient Experience at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She previously served as Assistant Vice President of Talent Strategy and Programs.

Ms. Whelan is passionate about making CTCA “The Best Place to Work.” In her role, Ms. Whelan is responsible for developing and leading initiatives and programs to drive an exceptional experience for both stakeholders and patients. In addition to her responsibilities at CTCA in Tulsa, she also serves in a role as an enterprise-wide leader in the area of talent attraction, selection and on-boarding.

In addition to her responsibilities at CTCA in Tulsa, she also serves in a role as an enterprise-wide leader in the area of talent technology, attraction and selection. Prior to joining CTCA, Ms. Whelan led the talent function for premier hospitality organizations, including Marriott and Hyatt hotels in Chicago.

Ms. Whelan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in human resource management. She received her Senior Professional in Human Resource certification in 2005. She is currently a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the National Association of Professional Women, where she was named the 2010/2011 Woman of the Year for the organization.

Ms. Whelan is also a certified Development Dimensions International instructor and Human Performance Institute’s Corporate Athlete® facilitator. She is a member of the Board of Directors with Junior Achievement of Oklahoma, and chair of their special events committee, as well as a member of the Board of Directors with Habitat for Humanity in Tulsa.

In her spare time, Ms. Whelan enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony, and son, Nicholas, as well as spending time outdoors, traveling, exercising and cooking.
