Inpatients at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center rely on Dr. Don King to coordinate their care and help develop their overall treatment plan. In explaining the importance of this role, Dr. King says, “Hospitalists devote 100 percent of their time to inpatient care and, thus, develop enhanced expertise in patients’ complex medical problems.”
Board certified in internal medicine and administrative medicine, Dr. King completed residencies in internal medicine at Pacific-Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco and the University of Illinois. He has held positions as assistant professor of internal medicine, Chief of Hospital Services at the U.S. Air Force Hospital in Turkey and Medical Director at City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa.
Dr. King understands that by explaining options to inpatients and assisting them in the decision-making process, he is empowering them to take control of their health and their path to recovery.
