The integrative approach to cancer treatment is what attracted Dr. Sagun Shrestha to Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. Dr. Shrestha was eager to work with a team of established physicians and complementary medicine practitioners to treat her patients.
“I liked the holistic approach and the teamwork at CTCA,” says Dr. Shrestha. “When I saw what we do here, it was a big draw. We spend as much time as needed with each patient, and we use nutrition and other supportive therapies to help with every aspect of cancer treatment.”
Dr. Shrestha works with a group of cancer experts, including a nurse, nutritionist, naturopath and care manager, to develop an ongoing treatment plan for each patient she treats. She says this level of care wouldn’t be possible without a team effort.
Dr. Shrestha’s goal is to help her patients and their families make informed decisions about cancer treatment. She lives the Mother Standard® of care, providing her patients with information and support.
Dr. Shrestha, who is board certified, earned a medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. She was Chief Medical Resident at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, New York and Chief Fellow in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York.
She holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American College of Physicians. Passionate about her career and her family, Dr. Shrestha is married to a physician and has two sons.
