Katie Crews is a clinical dietitian in the Nutrition and Metabolic Support Department at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. Crews and the rest of the nutrition team at Southwestern take a proactive approach to patient care with science-based innovative ideas and cutting edge technology.
Crews joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America in April 2006. A registered and licensed dietitian, Crews earned both a Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences from the University of New Mexico.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, Crews helps provide comprehensive, individualized care to inpatients and outpatients at Southwestern. She strives to assess and monitor patients’ nutritional needs and provide sound nutrition, helping patients stay nutritionally balanced while they are undergoing their traditional cancer treatment.
Crews says she enjoys working at Southwestern within the team-orientated atmosphere. She appreciates being able to provide individualized care to the patient and their caregivers—to better help patients stay nutritionally strong while going through treatments and thereafter.
Crews says her goal is to help patients get through their treatment plans, by empowering them to participate in taking control of their own health.
