Dean R. Fullingim, DO, FAOCR – Radiologist

Dr. Dean Fullingim’s career in radiology and nuclear medicine spans a remarkable four decades. He has received a number of grants and awards, including a National Osteopathic Foundation Grant, and is a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Radiology. In 2004, he was named Tulsa Osteopathic Foundation Outstanding Physician of the Year.

Every day, Dr. Fullingim’s vast experience and knowledge helps our physicians and patients at CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. The board-certified radiologist works with the skilled radiologic technologists in the Imaging Services Department at the hospital. He utilizes advanced diagnostic tools and software to help locate and stage cancer.

Dr. Fullingim obtained his medical degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete an internship and two residencies in radiology at Oklahoma State University Medical Center (formerly known as Tulsa Regional Medical Center/Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital). In addition, he completed a fellowship in nuclear medicine at the University of California Berkeley’s Donner Lab. While at the university, he also fulfilled graduate study hours in medical physics.

Dr. Fullingim spent nearly 30 years as a radiologist and Director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine in the Department of Radiological Sciences at Oklahoma State University Medical Center. He also served as the hospital’s Director of Teleradiology Services. In addition, Dr. Fullingim has been a consulting radiologist for several medical centers throughout Oklahoma.

From the mid-1980s on, he has served as acting chairman of the radiology department at Oklahoma State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also been a radiology professor at the school.

Dr. Fullingim is a member of several medical associations and societies, including the American and Oklahoma Osteopathic associations, the American Osteopathic College of Radiology, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the American College of Radiology. Furthermore, he has been a member of many high profile, professional committees. He has served on select committees for medical technology, radiation and nuclear medicine, as well as hospital board, executive and editorial committees.
