At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center, we recruit experts in cancer. Our doctors and practitioners are experienced, knowledgeable and caring. They work together, under one roof, to deliver integrative care that is tailored to your needs.
Treating you like family
Have you ever asked your doctor "What would you do if this was your loved one?" Our expert medical team is governed by the Mother Standard® of care. This means our care team joins together to support you and your needs as we would a member of our own family.
At Southwestern, your doctors know your health history, they know your treatment plan, they know you.
Comfort Rounds: A team approach
Every Thursday morning, our team of professionals meets with each of our hospitalized patients (our in-patients) for what we call "Comfort Rounds."
The Comfort Team, led by Dr. Mark Axness, is here to discuss your physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, or other concerns. This is an opportunity for you and your family to meet face-to-face with doctors and practitioners from various departments within the hospital, including the following:
- Nutrition and Metabolic Support
- Naturopathic Medicine
- Oncology Rehabilitation (Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy)
- Pain Management
- Mind-Body Medicine
- Pastoral Care
- Care Management
- Patient Relations
Comfort Round meetings are optional and the length of the meeting varies depending on your needs and concerns.
Giving you options, hope
At Southwestern, we fight cancer every day. It's all we do. And we attract the kind of professionals who go the extra mile in doing it -- professionals who are not only experts in cancer, but who are also are committed to exploring every treatment option available to you in a fully integrated, patient-centered approach.
