Dr. Michael Thomas
General Surgeon
Dr. Michael Thomas is a surgeon at Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. He specializes in all aspects of general surgery, including laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Thomas has been a member of the surgical team at the hospital since 2006.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in respiratory care at the University of Central Arkansas, Dr. Thomas earned a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Thereafter, he completed a residency in general surgery through the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. In 2001, he was honored as the school’s Outstanding Chief Surgical Resident.
Dr. Thomas is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Thomas is an assistant professor of surgery at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. Dr. Thomas has been published in the Annals of Vascular Surgery.
