If you are visiting us from outside of Tulsa, we understand that you may not feel like dealing with details such as where you will stay, how much it will cost, and how you will get around. Since many of our patients travel to us from out of town, we strive to make your stay with us as convenient, comfortable and affordable as possible.
On-site Accommodations
We offer on-site and off-site outpatient accommodations for patients who live more than 50 miles from our hospital and who are currently undergoing treatment and/or testing. During your treatment and/or testing, our room charge is modest.
There are 153 on-site rooms available for patients and their caregivers. While we would like to accommodate all of our out-of-area patients at our on-site facility, there are times when we will arrange for off-site accommodations, due to high patient volumes or safety concerns (i.e., patients with children under the age of 18). Additionally, patients with special needs, such as those who are wheelchair-bound or receiving chemotherapy, are given first priority to our on-site accommodations.
Our on-site outpatient accommodations amenities include:
- Televisions with DVD players in each room
- A laundry room on each floor, with a washer, dryer, ironing board and iron
- A shower in each room and bathtubs on each floor
- A pantry on each floor, with a microwave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator and ice maker
- Personal computers in the Patient Library and Activity Rooms
- A beauty salon, which offers hair styling services and consultation (for patients who may experience hair loss and other cosmetic changes)
- Fax services
In addition, Southwestern’s outpatient accommodations provide you with an opportunity to interact with other people who are going through similar situations. It is a community of cancer patients and caregivers who provide support and encouragement to each other.
Representatives from our outpatient accommodations team work 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you. If at any time you have questions or special needs, you may contact the outpatient accommodations office. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Nearby hotels
Should you desire to remain in Tulsa between cancer treatments, you may move to one of the off-site hotels. Many of our patients stay at the nearby Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Candlewood Suites, which offer special, discounted CTCA rates.
Getting you to and from
Southwestern offers a transportation service to take you to and from your designated accommodation site and the hospital, as well as on scheduled trips to area malls and restaurants.
