- Licensed Nursing Assistant
Practicing Since: 2003
Tim Smith wants the patients he sees to feel cared for and nurtured during their treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA). As a licensed massage therapist, his goal is to help patients heal.
“Serving our patients is a privilege that I truly enjoy,” Smith says. “I never dreamed that I would get so much back from caring for our patients.”
Smith joined CTCA in Newnan, Georgia, in 2013. He has worked as a massage therapist in Georgia and Florida since 2003.
As a part of CTCA’s integrative model of care, Smith says he’s treated as an equal and important member of the team of clinicians who collaborate to treat each patient as a whole person.
Smith uses reflexology, a treatment mostly done on patients’ feet. At times, patients are unable to lay down for a massage due to a recent surgery or their cancer type. Most all patients, though, can receive reflexology treatment, which is relaxing and may help with anxiety, stress and other symptoms experienced during treatment.
Originally from Orlando, Smith was a professional trumpet player for 24 years. He enjoys motorcycles and cooking for family and friends.
