Dr. Sharone Jensen is an Urgent Care Physician at CTCA at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan, Georgia. She joined the Southeastern staff after directing the Quality of Life Center at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia for three years.
After studying nutrition and dietetics as an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Dr. Jensen obtained a master’s degree in physiology at Columbia University in 1990. She became a registered dietitian in 1991. From 1991 to 1994, Dr. Jensen worked as a dietitian in New York.
In 1996, Dr. Jensen returned to school to pursue a medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. After obtaining her medical degree in 2000, Dr. Jensen completed a three-year residency in emergency medicine at Cooper Hospital, part of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Jensen is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is a licensed medical doctor through the State of New Jersey.
She has given invited presentation on various aspects of medical care and has appeared on television. She has also written chapters and journal articles on emergency medicine, and has conducted research on childhood nutrition and emergency medicine care. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Alongside her patient care, Dr. Jensen has volunteered in her local community. Over the years she has served as an AIDS educator with the American Red Cross, a community educator at homeless shelters, and has also volunteered at animal shelters.
Dr. Jensen joined CTCA in 2012. She works closely with patients to improve their quality of life during and following treatment by alleviating pain, providing comfort, reducing anxiety, and addressing their medical needs.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Jensen enjoys spending time at the Jersey shore, gardening, playing golf, and practicing yoga. She has a six-year-old cattle dog/retriever mix named Marley.
