As a former educator, Latoya Britt can communicate and connect with patients in a way that shows she values them as individuals. Britt is a Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Newnan, Georgia, where she helps patients understand the complexities of their diagnosis.

"It is in this natural process of patient education that I facilitate healing," says Britt, who joined CTCA in December 2012. "I think it's paramount to remind my patients that outside of their diagnosis, they are full and total human beings."

Britt focuses on building relationships with her patients and their loved ones. She wants to offer patients and caregivers support as she joins them in their fight against cancer.

Britt earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta in 2012, a year after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Emory, as well. Britt graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Georgia in 2003.

While pursuing her master's degree, Britt was a student nurse practitioner in medical oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta from January 2012 to April 2012. She then was a student nurse practitioner in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Emory University Hospital Midtown from May 2012 to July 2012.

“Working at CTCA has enhanced my sense of what it truly means to be a part of a health care community,” Britt says. "My colleagues' level of commitment to our patients is unparalleled. I am honored to be a part of the legacy that CTCA continues to build."

The American Heart Association has certified Britt as an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider. The Oncology Nursing Society has certified her as a Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider. Britt is a Registered Professional Nurse, Advance Practice NP through the state of Georgia.

Britt is a huge fan of the University of Georgia’s football team. She loves her Yorkie, named Boss, all genres of music, black and white photos, raindrops and a good book.
