“Naturopathic care can help some patients better tolerate treatment with minimal side effects and interruptions to daily life,” says Kenna Brooke Barber, Naturopathic Physician at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA). “We use clinically proven, safe, nontoxic approaches that can be extremely effective.”

Brooke earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Liberty University, graduating summa cum laude and a member of the Psy Chi National Honor Society. She attended Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine on an academic scholarship, completing her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 2008. During her academic training, Brooke worked extensively with Christine Girard, Naturopathic Director at CTCA®.

She has completed additional training in the naturopathic management of breast cancer, integrative cancer care, and hyperthermia oncology treatment, among other areas.

Since 2009, Brooke has been a naturopathic practitioner in a variety of settings. She launched her private practice in 2009, providing naturopathic care for patients coping with a range of chronic conditions including cancer, autoimmune and endocrine system disorders, gastrointestinal ailments, and mood disorders. From 2010 to 2011 she also served as a national educator with Natural Health International, training healthcare practitioners, medical school students and other professionals on naturopathic treatments and medical conditions. Brooke also spent time as a Wellness Consultant at a wellness sanctuary in Thailand.

Licensed by the Arizona Naturopathic Board of Medical Examiners, Brooke is a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Institute for Functional Medicine, and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She has been an invited speaker at Vail Resorts and the Whole Foods Monthly Lecture Series.

At CTCA, Brooke prioritizes the Mother Standard® of care. “My mother had breast cancer, and it was through her battle that I found naturopathic medicine,” she says. “I knew that this approach was how I would make a positive impact in the lives of those facing such a difficult journey.”

When she is not at CTCA, Brooke enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. She is a licensed yoga instructor and a devoted animal lover.
