“Food is a universal need that provides comfort and is essential to good health,” says Jill Agin, Clinical Oncology Dietitian at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) near Atlanta. “Healthy food choices matter, and I help guide patients toward them.”

Agin studied nutrition at Georgia State University, completing her Bachelor of Science in 2011. Her dietetic internship, at Southern Regional Medical Center in Georgia, included extensive clinical training in food service, community nutrition, nutrition support and wellness. 

Since 2012, Agin has served as a clinical dietitian in several health care settings. She provided medical nutrition therapy in a large acute-care facility, where she also taught heart-healthy cooking to patients rehabilitating from cardiac ailments. She has worked with children and their families on creating health-related goals and implementing lifestyle changes to achieve those goals. Most recently, she provided nutrition therapy to patients in critical care in the oncology and orthopedic units of a large regional hospital. She offered nutritional support to patients in intensive care and following their release.

Agin joined CTCA® in June 2015. She works with inpatients coping with a wide range of cancers and accompanying issues. By following studies and reports on the most recent nutrition science, and constantly updating herself on new research, Agin strives to help patients find a diet that is both comfortable and compatible with their health needs.

A licensed dietitian by the State of Georgia, Agin is a member of the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, the Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association and Georgia Organics.

When she is not at CTCA, Agin enjoys spending time with her husband and son. They camp, hike, seek out live music and explore Atlanta’s dining scene.
