After running his own private practice for several years, in 2012, Harris Frank, LAc decided to join Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southeastern Regional Medical Center as an acupuncturist and practitioner of medical Qigong.

At Southeastern, Mr. Frank will be working with both the Naturopathic Medicine and Mind-Body Departments. "I’m looking forward to incorporating what I do into the integrative environment at CTCA," he says.

Mr. Frank earned a doctorate of medical Qigong from the International Institute of Medical Qigong in Monterey, California and through this program, earned certification as a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Ministry of Health in the People's Republic of China. He also holds a master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California.

Prior to joining CTCA, Mr. Frank was the founding partner of a private practice that included acupuncturists, herbalists, massage therapists and practitioners of medical Qigong.

"By using Chinese medicine, we can enable a person’s own resources to be more available to improve health and vitality, eliminate disease and improve immunity," says Mr. Frank. "My goal with both acupuncture and medical Qigong is to help our patients at CTCA discover these resources within themselves."

Mr. Frank is inspired by his patients' desire to create a new life for themselves beyond cancer. "What I like about Chinese medicine is it offers unique opportunities to rebalance and reorient a person's life away from disease and toward what he or she truly wants in life," he says.

In his free time, Mr. Frank enjoys hiking and being outdoors with his wife. He is also a passionate practitioner of Chinese martial arts, including Taiji Quan.
