Practicing Since: 2004
David K. Oster joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southeastern Regional Medical Center (Southeastern) as a naturopathic oncology provider in January 2013.
Oster earned a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2004. Before that, he graduated from Queens University in Kingston in Ontario with a bachelor of science honors degree in pre-medical life sciences.
Prior to joining CTCA, Oster owned his own naturopathic medicine clinic in Ontario. He was a frequent lecturer/presenter throughout Southern Ontario, covering topics such as naturopathic oncology, men’s health, skin conditions and cardiovascular disease.
"The severity of the usual side effects that accompany chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery can be reduced in many cases by naturopathic treatments and tools," says Oster on the role of naturopathic medicine in oncology care. “This affords our medical oncologists and patients to proceed with standard care in an aggressive manner and for the prescribed length of time.”
Oster is a fellow of the Institute for Human Individuality, and a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He moved to Georgia at the end of 2012 with his wife and two children.
"We greatly miss our family and country, but we are falling in love with our new home in the USA," says Oster, who reports that he and his family are big fans of hockey and outdoor activities such as camping, canoeing, hiking and biking.
