"The quality of care and congenial atmosphere is significant at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and the patients feel it. They know that what they’re getting is well-organized and efficient."
Dr. James Braude
Intake Physician
James Braude, MD, brings over 30 years of experience to his role as intake physician at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan, Georgia.
“CTCA provides the kind of patient care that I always dreamed of doing, but didn’t have the capabilities to carry out in an independent private practice,” says Dr. Braude, who had his own private practice in internal medicine from 1981-2011.
Dr. Braude earned a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he also completed an internship and residency. After finishing medical school, Dr. Braude served as a clinical instructor at Emory University School of Medicine, and was the Director of Clinical Methods at the Emory University School of Physicians Assistants from 1987-1990.
While running his own medical practice, Dr. Braude also spent time as the director of a clinical research facility in Atlanta devoted to AIDS research. He has owned operated a number of other private businesses, such as Ourhomeinatlanta.com and Ourhomeinparis.com, where he manages high-end, short-term rental properties in Paris, France and Atlanta. He also founded Yourhomeinatlanta.org, a charity for “second chance” housing for relocating battered women and international refugees.
At CTCA, Dr. Braude is one of the first doctors to greet patients as soon as they arrive, and describes his role as a Sherpa, or Tibetan guide. “I’m your Sherpa while you’re here,” he says. “You can stop in my office any time if you have a question or problem, and my job is to guide you and organize your tour so you get the answers you came for.”
In his free time, Dr. Braude enjoys travelling. He is fluent in French and American Sign Language.
