Learn More About The Convenient Transportation Service At Southeastern: Chat with Us | Email Us

drivers About two-thirds of Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) patients (70 percent) come from out of state. If you decide to travel to CTCA for treatment, our Transportation Services team works closely with our Travel Schedulers to make your trip as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Prior to your arrival at CTCA at Southeastern Regional Medical Center (Southeastern), our representatives will coordinate all of the details for you, from your air travel to lodging arrangements to anything else you may need. Then, from the minute you arrive, the Transportation Department is at your service.

The Transportation Team

Clayton Hicks, Director of Transportation & Travel Scheduling at Southeastern, has lived in Newnan, Georgia, for 10 years, and has served on the City Council for the last six years.

“To me, the driver is the most important person in the hospital, because it is often the first face our patients see when arriving at CTCA,” says Hicks, who focuses on bringing in drivers who are calm, friendly and dedicated to the CTCA mission and promise. Every driver goes through a rigorous training process that includes a scavenger hunt to learn the area, as well as a ride in each CTCA vehicle to understand how to make our passengers feel at ease.

Should you need a wheelchair or any other special assistance, our vehicles are equipped to serve our patients’ needs and our drivers are trained to assist patients in getting in and out of any type of vehicle.

The Transportation Department is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Getting to the Hospital

If you are coming to us by plane, one of our friendly drivers will greet you at the airport. Using state-of-the-art Hudson Software, Hicks is able to keep track of all of our patients and their flight information. Our team will check the status of your flight ahead of time and stay in close contact with you should any delays occur. When you arrive, a driver will typically be at the top of the escalators by baggage claim, holding a sign with your name on it.

Your driver will load your luggage and drive you to the hospital, which is about 30 minutes away. Should you have any questions, feel free to ask your driver, as he/she is knowledgeable about both the area and our hospital. Or you are welcome to sit back, relax and simply enjoy the ride.

For those who live locally and need transportation to the hospital, a driver can pick you up for your appointments and take you back home afterwards. Our home patient transportation service includes up to an estimated 30-mile radius of our hospital.

Getting Around Town

Southeastern has 25 in-patient rooms and 60 on-site guestrooms. If you would rather stay on your own, we have set up partnerships with numerous Newnan hotels to offer special rates just for CTCA patients. No need to worry about getting to and from the hospital, as our Transportation Team operates regular shuttles that go back and forth between our hotel partners and Southeastern. The shuttle service begins at approximately 7 a.m.

Our shuttle bus also makes frequent trips to the nearby Ashley Park mall, stating at 9:30 a.m., for all of your shopping, dining and entertainment needs. If you’d like to visit downtown Newnan or other nearby attractions, the Transportation Team collaborates with our Patient Relations and Guest Accommodations departments to take you and your caregivers to other local spots.

On the weekends, the Transportation Team works with the Patient Activities Coordinator to schedule trips to destinations such as Zoo Atlanta, Downtown Newnan, the Atlanta Aquarium and other exciting locations.

Southern Hospitality

“What makes us different is that Southern hospitality feel,” says Hicks. “Just like the rest of the hospital, we on the Transportation Team put the patients first and make sure their needs are taken care of and addressed; it’s a big team effort.”

When you come to CTCA, our goal is to make you feel relaxed so you can focus on your treatment and recovery. You don’t have to worry about the logistics before or during your trip, because our Transportation Services team and Travel Schedulers have the details covered.
