Let’s not kid anybody – getting a cancer diagnosis is like getting a death sentence handed to you. You go through shock, panic, denial. “Why me, this happens to the other guy.” At other hospitals the doctor reads you your rights – tells you how you can be cut up this way and that way – how you will be less than a whole person after it is all over. Your mind races – you need other opinions, some kindness, some warmth, some hope. Tell me I will come out of this alive, as a whole person! It is the worst nightmare you can have.
Thank you, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, for ending the nightmare. I am alive, well, whole, and a fully functional human being. CTCA did it through kindness, caring, superb knowledge – more than just “state of the art”, and “cutting edge”. CTCA cared about everything – my body, my mind, my spirit – there was not a place they did not touch as they worked to heal my cancer. CTCA is a model of how human beings should care for each other.
Would I say that my experience with CTCA has been life changing? Of course, of the highest order! I wish that the rest of the world were like Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
