A Survivor's Story
In His Own Words
Clair Shares His ExperienceAt CTCA, prostate cancer survivor Clair found a team of cancer experts who believed in him.
At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), we believe one of the best ways to learn about all that we offer, and what truly makes our cancer care different, is to listen to the experiences of our patients. In this section, you’ll find compelling, personal stories from prostate cancer survivors who received comprehensive prostate cancer treatment from our care team of cancer experts. These specialists from several fields—including medical, surgical and radiation oncology, nutrition, naturopathy, pain management and physical therapy—worked closely together to create and implement a customized, prostate cancer treatment plan for each patient.
What Is Prostate Cancer?
Prostate cancer is cancer that develops in the prostate, a walnut-sized organ that surrounds a male’s urethra. It produces a fluid that becomes part of semen.

“All of my health care providers at CTCA had integrity. No one ever guaranteed that they could cure me. There were no false promises. They did, though, promise that they had the technology, skill and passion to do everything they could and would fight alongside of me.”

“I have been overwhelmed from that first call until this day by the upbeat, happy attitude of everyone associated with this center; from the driver that picked us up at the airport to the patients in the cafeteria. The administrative staff, nurses, technicians, food service people, housekeeping people and doctors all make you feel you are a part of one big family.”

Owen Sibert
“…the patients' dining room… is actually much like a United Nations of Cancer. It seems like there are people there from every corner of the globe. The instant you sit down, you are joined by another cancer patient, who quickly shares his story with you and asks about your experiences. All of the people are rooting for each other, and no small improvement goes unnoticed.”
