As a prostate cancer patient at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), you will find a multidisciplinary team of cancer experts who have extensive experience in treating the disease. In addition to medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, clinicians from a variety of other disciplines come together to form your prostate cancer team.
We offer the latest cancer treatments and technologies, including radiation therapy, HDR brachytherapy, chemotherapy and Provenge®, the first FDA-approved prostate cancer vaccine. Your prostate cancer treatment plan includes supportive therapies to help you manage side effects and fight the disease on all fronts. Everyone works together, sharing knowledge and resources and working with you to determine the appropriate combination of therapies for you. It’s a team effort, with you at the center.
Fighting Prostate Cancer with a Personalized Approach
Prostate cancer affects each person differently. Our patients have told us they value cancer treatment that incorporates their unique needs. When you first contact CTCA, we handle all of the details—from insurance verification to scheduling appointments, to gathering medical records, to transportation and lodging.
By the time you arrive at our hospital, our clinicians will have completed a comprehensive review of your medical records. Within the first two days, we will perform a complete array of diagnostic tests and you will meet with each of the members of your care team. We’ll take the time to listen, answer your questions and understand your needs. Then, we’ll work with you to develop a comprehensive, fully-integrated prostate cancer treatment plan that best suits your individual needs.
When you have completed your treatment for prostate cancer, the CTCA Survivorship Support Program continues to support you at home. The program is set up to help you identify and manage side effects and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You’ll be connected with a nurse, who you can call whenever you have a concern.
