Cancer Treatment Centers of America Names Pamela Browner White to Lead Public Affairs

Pamela Browner-White

CHICAGO, July 18, 2011 – Pamela Browner White, an accomplished senior public affairs executive, has joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) as the growing organization’s vice president of public affairs. In this capacity she will develop and manage the organization’s national public affairs.

CTCA specializes in serving patients with complex and advance-stage cancer. Cancer patients and their families travel hundreds of miles one way to access the unique CTCA treatment model known as Patient Empowered Care® at the organization’s four regional hospitals in Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Tulsa. A fifth hospital will open in Atlanta in late 2012.

Patient Empowered Care® provides cancer patients and their families with thorough information about their health and the treatment options available to them. CTCA empowers patients with the information they need to decide what’s best for their individualized treatment plan. The CTCA treatment model combines state-of-the-art clinical technology with an array of scientifically-supported, complementary therapies – such as nutrition, naturopathic medicine, pain management, oncology rehabilitation, mind-body medicine, spiritual counseling and more – to help manage the side effects of treatment and improve quality of life.

Browner White is no stranger to CTCA, having served as a member of its Eastern Regional Medical Center (Philadelphia) board of directors for the past five years. She comes to CTCA after serving as senior vice president, public affairs and government relations for the Philadelphia Eagles, members of the NFC East division of the National Football League (NFL). During her tenure with the franchise she acted as the official spokesperson, managed day-to-day football and general media operations, community outreach, government relations, crisis communications and sponsorship programs for the team.

Prior to the Eagles, Browner White served as one of Citizens Bank’s top communication strategists where she managed corporate, public and media relations, crisis/issues management, state and local government relations, corporate giving, community relations activities, employee communications and marketing sponsorships.

“I’m incredibly excited to enter the world of healthcare with such a mission-driven organization as CTCA,” said Browner White, formerly recognized as one of the “Top 50 Women in Business” by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Peter Yesawich, CTCA chief growth officer, said Browner White will bring new insights and leadership to the company’s public affairs team. “Pamela represents a terrific addition to our management team and will undoubtedly play a vital role in helping us deliver the message of our unique approach to cancer care to both cancer patients and their families.”
