Pharyngeal Cancer Treatment: Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has offered fractionated-dose chemotherapy as a pharyngeal cancer treatment for several years. With this method of chemotherapy delivery, the total dose is broken into smaller amounts and administered over a period of three to five days, rather than in conventional chemotherapy's single, larger dose. Fractionated-dose chemotherapy can allow the chemo drugs to work against the cancerous pharyngeal cells for a longer period of time. It may make pharyngeal cancer treatment more bearable for some patients, reducing some of the unpleasant side effects, such as nausea and vomiting.
