Supportive Therapies for Pancreatic Cancer Patients: Image Enhancement
Your Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) care team understands that hair loss and changes in skin and body can be devastating aftereffects of cancer and the resulting treatment. In our mission to provide you and your family total care as we help you fight pancreatic cancer, our image enhancement specialists provide support in two important ways.
Cosmetic image enhancement
The CTCA Cosmetic Image Enhancement program assists women and men undergoing chemotherapy and radiation with appearance and body image issues. Our team will help you prepare for hair loss and the other cosmetic changes that may occur during pancreatic cancer treatment. We have developed classes and seminars for you, your family and community members. In addition, beauticians, cosmetologists and salon personnel are often available at our hospitals.
Plastic and reconstructive support
Your care team at CTCA may include surgical oncologists and plastic and reconstructive surgeons. Depending on your specific condition, pancreatic cancer surgery may be a treatment option. Plastic surgeons may also be able to perform restorative procedures immediately following or during pancreatic cancer surgery.
