Pancreatic Cancer Treatment: Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has offered fractionated-dose chemotherapy as a pancreatic cancer treatment for several years. Fractionated-dose chemotherapy differs from conventional chemotherapy in that the total dose is broken into smaller amounts administered over a period of three to five days.
Fractionated-dose chemotherapy works against cancerous pancreatic cells for an extended period of time. The smaller doses make the chemotherapy more tolerable for some patients. This approach helps to reduce some of the unpleasant side effects of pancreatic cancer chemotherapy.
