Hormone Therapy for Ovarian Cancer
Another ovarian cancer treatment option we offer at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is hormone therapy, which aims to deprive ovarian cancer cells of the hormones they need to grow, including estrogen. Hormone therapy for ovarian cancer is often used in conjunction with chemotherapy and other therapies.
At CTCA, we offer innovative approaches to hormone therapy, attacking the disease on multiple fronts with a combination of drugs. A common regimen of hormone therapy for ovarian cancer patients involves using a combination of tamoxifen and Arimidex® (anastrozole) to lower estrogen levels in the body. In some cases, hormone therapy may be used to increase progesterone levels, which can prevent cancer cells from growing.
