Tumor Molecular Profiling for Ovarian Cancer
Our goal at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is to develop an ovarian cancer treatment plan suited to your needs. For women with recurrent ovarian cancer in particular, we perform tumor molecular profiling to identify chemotherapy drugs when standard therapy has failed.
Ovarian cancer tumor molecular profiling helps us identify which drugs may work earlier and with greater precision. If you have recurrent disease, we’ll try to get a sample of tissue or fluid during surgery. Then, we’ll test the sample for a variety of biomarkers to determine which drugs are likely to be most effective. By choosing more effective drugs, we can avoid unnecessary toxicity to you, and target cancer cells as aggressively as possible from the start.
