Radiation therapy for oral cancer
Radiation treatments are commonly used to treat oral cancer patients at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA).
We offer two primary types of oral cancer radiation therapy:
- External beam radiation therapy (EBRT): Delivers high doses of radiation to oral cancer cells from outside the body, using a variety of machine-based technologies.
- Brachytherapy (internal radiation): Delivers high or low doses of radiation from implants placed close to, or inside, the tumor(s) in the body.
