ACE Ladder Program

The Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) Achievement in Clinical Excellence (ACE) Ladder Program is a voluntary career advancement program for direct-care nurses, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), specialty technicians and patient care technicians (PCTs). Its purpose is to recognize and compensate nurses who practice in a role of increased autonomy and responsibility, and to provide promotional opportunities in clinical nursing.

The ACE Ladder Program consists of four levels of professional practice, each level reflecting an incremental stage of achievement in professional development, education/clinical practice, leadership, community service and customer service. The following nurses reached a new ACE Ladder Program level in 2011:

Nurse Fellowship Program

Teaching moments begin as soon as new nurses begin their careers at CTCA at Midwestern. The CTCA at Midwestern Nursing Fellowship Program mentors and assimilates new graduate nurses on all aspects of the compassionate and committed oncology care and encourages established nurses to become managers and leaders.

Nurses Nurturing Nurses Mentoring Program

CTCA at Midwestern nurses serve as mentors to new nurses through the Nurses Nurturing Nurses Mentoring Program. The program is designed to help new nurses succeed as they began their careers at CTCA at Midwestern. Mentors provide career guidance, advice and leadership to mentees to help facilitate a smooth transition to the CTCA at Midwestern culture and environment of healing and hope.

Advanced Degree Program and Scholarship Opportunities

Advanced Degree Completion Scholarship Program

The Advanced Degree Completion Scholarship Program encourages nurses at CTCA at Midwestern to seek advanced degrees. It offers extensive financial aid by proving 10 scholarships to nurses seeking their BSN, MSN or Nurse Practitioner degrees.

Morrie Coff Scholarship

The Morrie Coff Scholarship awards $5,000 to one full-time or part-time CTCA at Midwestern stakeholder.

Continuing Education

The CTCA Center for Learning

The CTCA Center for Learning, the CTCA education arm, offers courses in three colleges for ongoing education: Business Excellence, Clinical Excellence, and Leadership & Cultural Experience College. Web and classroom-based sources are available to our nurses 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
