Dr. Shilajit Kundu is an urologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern).
With a focus on treatment of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer and kidney cancer, Dr. Kundu performs surgery, consults with medical oncologists and patients on available treatment options, and monitors patients who may need surgical intervention in the future. Dr. Kundu also spear-headed a urology rehabilitation program to help patients recover and return to normal function following surgery.
Dr. Kundu obtained a medical degree from the University of Illinois and completed post-graduate training at Northwestern University, where he completed a residency in general surgery and urology. He went on to complete a fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Kundu recognizes the important decision patients make when deciding where to go for cancer treatment. He believes in the whole-person approach provided at CTCA.
Dr. Kundu also teaches in the Department of Urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where in 2010 he was awarded Teacher of the Year. In addition to his faculty appointments, Dr. Kundu is a member of many professional organizations, including the Chicago Urologic Society, the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the Endourological Society.
