Mary Pirrung joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) near Chicago in April 2013. As a Nurse Practitioner, Pirrung works with patients experiencing urology conditions or urological cancers. "At CTCA®, I work on a multidisciplinary team with some of the most amazing doctors and clinicians who focus on whole-person cancer care," she says.

Pirrung believes that one of her primary roles is to be a trusted source of information for her patients, and that patients are comforted when they are empowered with knowledge. Pirrung works with patients to help treat all types of urological cancers, including testicular, kidney, bladder and prostate cancers. She also helps patients with other cancer types who are experiencing a urology condition related to their cancer or treatment. Pirrung works in both the outpatient and inpatient clinics.

Pirrung received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pennsylvania. She completed her Master of Science in nursing from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, then sought further training to become a nurse practitioner, earning a Post-Master’s Certificate from California State University in Bakersfield, California. Pirrung is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Throughout her career, Pirrung has had an unwavering commitment to her patients, finding the CTCA Mother Standard® of care a perfect fit for her approach to nursing. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners.

When Pirrung is not assisting patients, she likes to spend time with family, including her grandchildren. She enjoys making baby quilts and tracking her daily steps.
