If you want to know about the history of Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), ask Dr. Alfonso Mellijor. In 1981, he was the second physician to join our hospital, and as such, has an extensive knowledge of our integrative care structure.
As founder and head of the New Patient Evaluation Process, he calls upon this knowledge every day to guide patients in selecting the treatment and supportive services that best meet their needs.
Dr. Mellijor received a medical degree from Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Philippines. After moving to the United States, he completed surgical residency training at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in surgical oncology at the State University of New York.
