About two-thirds of our patients come from out of state. One reason is because we make it easy to get here.

If you decide to travel to Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) for an evaluation or treatment, our Transportation Department will work closely with our travel and accommodations coordinators to make your trip as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Prior to your arrival at CTCA® at Midwestern, our representatives will coordinate all of the details for you, from your air travel to lodging arrangements to anything else you may need. Then, from the minute you arrive, the transportation team is at your service.

If you're traveling from out of town, we'll pick you up from the airport or train station. During your stay, we'll take you to offsite medical appointments, special outings and local retailers.

Does getting picked up for your appointments and dropped off back home sound appealing? If so, learn more about our Home-to-Hospital program.

Our transportation team

From the minute you arrive in Chicago, our Transportation Department is at your service. The transportation team consists of friendly and reliable transportation representatives, including drivers and dispatchers. The transportation team is here to help you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Transportation services

If you are coming to us by plane, a CTCA at Midwestern transportation team member will greet you at the airport. He or she will check the status of your flight ahead of time and stay in close contact with you should any delays occur.

O’Hare International (Chicago) and General Mitchell International (Milwaukee) are our preferred airports. When your plane arrives and you have retrieved your luggage, plese refer to your itinerary for pick-up instructions. If you are flying into O’Hare, the driver typically meets you at the baggage claim area, holding a sign with your name on it. If you are flying into Milwaukee, the driver will typically meet you outside of baggage claim, also holding a sign with your name on it. Your driver will then load your luggage and drive you to the hospital or to your lodging accommodations.

If you are coming to us by train, a CTCA at Midwestern transportation team member will greet you at one of our local train stations (Waukegan, Zion or Antioch in Illinois; Sturtevant in Wisconsin). In addition, we offer a free shuttle service, which you can use to get to and from the hospital and your nearby lodging. Our transportation team also makes stops at the local Walmart, Walgreens and CVS. Information on shuttle schedules is available in the hospital and lodging locations.
