About two-thirds of our patients come from out of state. One reason is because we make it easy to get here.
If you decide to travel to CTCA at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) for treatment, our Transportation Department works closely with our travel schedulers to make your trip as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Prior to your arrival at Midwestern, our representatives will coordinate all of the details for you, from your air travel to lodging arrangements to anything else you may need. Then, from the minute you arrive, the transportation team is at your service.
If you're traveling from out of town, we'll pick you up from the airport. During your stay, we'll take you to offsite medical appointments and special outings.
Our transporation team
From the minute you arrive in Chicago, our Transportation Department is at your service. The transportation team consists of friendly and reliable transportation representatives, including drivers and dispatchers. We understand you may be apprehensive about traveling. The transportation team is here to help you feel comfortable and relaxed.
If you are coming to us by plane, a driver will greet you at the airport. He or she will check the status of your flight ahead of time and stay in close contact with you should any delays occur.
When your plane arrives and you have retrieved your luggage, call dispatch for pick-up instructions. If you are flying into O’Hare, the driver typically picks up right at baggage claim, holding a sign with your name on it. If you are flying into Milwaukee or Midway, the driver will typically meet you outside of baggage claim. Your driver will then load your luggage for you and drive you to the hospital. Our team can also pick you up at the train station.
We also offer a free shuttle service, which you can use to get to and from the hospital and your nearby lodging. Our transportation team also makes stops at the local Walmart, Walgreens and CVS.
