“At CTCA, I get to know the whole patient, not just their cancer.” In discussing his role as a medical oncologist at CTCA at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Dr. Joel Granick shows that he is not afraid to get close to his patients.
He says, “I work with patients who have been mistreated elsewhere because their pain is not under control. I find great satisfaction in relieving pain, suffering and discomfort because this provides such a significant improvement in their quality of life in such a great way.” It’s this personable and determined attitude that endears him to those he treats.
During his career at CTCA, Dr. Granick has served as the Director of Oncology Services and Palliative Care.
Dr. Granick received his medical degree from State University of New York in Brooklyn. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at Presbyterian-University Medical Center in Philadelphia, as well as a hematology fellowship at State University of New York in Brooklyn.
